What is an ice dam and why does it matter?
An ice dam is a ridge of ice that builds up along the edge of the roof after snow melts and refreezes. Water backs up behind it and can get under the shingles, which leads to wet insulation, stained ceilings and damaged drywall. Preventing ice dams is part of our maintenance program.
